In Greek mythology the river Styx represents the boundary between the earth and the underworld. According to the legend, the souls of the deceased were transported across the river by Charon, the ferryman.
On the banks of the river Rhine, we pay homage to this mythical legend and take you on a journey into another underworld, the era of underground bars at the time of the American prohibition. During this period between 1920 and 1933, the production and sale of alcohol in the United States was prohibited nationwide.
The spirit of the golden twenties, however, was not broken, and in secret bars, so-called speakeasies, many new, innovative and imposing cocktails were created. Often from smuggled or homemade liquor and homemade ingredients.
This esprit inspired us. Come with us on a journey and immerse yourself in a mythical world full of diverse flavours and treats.
Welcome on board. Welcome to the Styx.
